about

felt habit is a collaborative music identity based in South Africa, exploring sound through honesty, neo-classical textures and shared process.

Rooted in simplicity and self-taught practice, felt habit began as a quiet place to sketch. Working from a modest home studio in Cape Town, the project grew from a deeply personal process of expression into a broader practice of collaboration and sonic contribution.

it exists between and around two core projects:

  • ad harmonium is a modern classical project by south african composers sebee and felt habit. their music is built on piano, silence, and emotional precision — with releases on anjunachill, leiter’s piano day, and supported by anjunadeep’s james grant
  • archaellum is the collaboration between hexlogic and felt habit. their sound blends organic texture with melodic grooves — focused on simplicity, movement, and clarity. releases include this never happened, monstercat silk, and enhanced music.

while those identities follow distinct paths, felt habit remains a solo space — a sketchbook of unfinished loops, custom motifs, and collaborative ideas.

born in quiet, not ambition, felt habit began as a self-taught creative outlet. no training, no expectation — just the habit of making. over time, it became a trusted presence in behind-the-scenes composition, offering motifs, textures, and co-writing that have found their way into global playlists, streaming releases, and app environments.

felt habit music has been used on the calm app and streamed millions of times across platforms.

still, the focus stays small:
make what you can. share it early. leave it open.
