tintswalo

tintswalo was ad harmonium’s debut release on anjunachill, first introduced on anjunachill 01 mixed by above & beyond, and later featured on movement vol. 4 by anjunadeep’s james grant. it blends european classical elements with the sounds and textures of south africa—an approach that sits at the heart of ad harmonium.

the piece is built around a delicate piano motif, unfolding slowly over soft percussion, ambient textures, and subtle field recordings. we wanted it to feel grounded but spacious—introspective, cinematic, and open to interpretation. it sits, as one listener put it, “in-between european classical traditions and the pulse of africa,” with resonant piano lines and organic electronic flourishes.

tintswalo drew early attention from the anjuna community. for us, it was a quiet affirmation: that a contemplative, emotionally driven sound could speak across places, and be felt in different ways.
